HLTFA301B
- APPLY FIRST AID
Overview
This course deals with the provision of emergency
life support in recognizing and responding to an emergency using basic
life support measures. The first aider provides an initial response
to a situation where first aid may be required but is not expected
to deal with complex casualties or incidents. In this unit it is assumed
the first aider is working under supervision and/or according to established
workplace or community first aid procedures. This includes the ability
to respond to emergency situations requiring the administration of
basic life support functions such as casualty assessment, rescue breathing
and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), circulation, patient management,
serious bleeding, fractures and wounds.
